On the third day of Pedals and Effects you have a chance to win…a DOD Gonkulator.

Background:
In the 1990’s DOD made some incredible pedals that were criminally underrated. I’ve spoken volumes about my love for DOD pedals, especially the Meatbox. The DOD Gonkulator is another underrated but beloved gem and now, having been recently reissued by Digitech the Gonkulator is back and better than ever.
The DOD Gonkulator is a combination ring modulator bundled with a distortion. The pedal yields some really gnarly sweeping clang-y sounds, along with that metallic overtone goodness you’d come to expect from a ring mod. What separates the Gonkulator from other ring mods is being able to blend distortion into the signal to get some really other-worldy sounds. You can blend both the distortion and the ring mod to taste, and if you want just distortion, or want just ring modulation, the Gonkulator’s got you covered.
Nick Reinhart is a huge Gonkulator fan, having owned the different iterations of the pedal over the years. You can check out his extensive review of the Gonkulator as well as his detailed history of the pedal here. Peep the video below of Nick and I getting weird with the Gonkulator.
Digitech has updated the DOD Gonkulator with a 9volt power supply input as well as being true bypass. We at Pedals and Effects love us some DOD!

I’ve been in love with DOD for a long time. I got into them when I was in a studio in Woodstock, New York recording a low-end rumble out of my five string for a sub effect (this was before the reissue of the meatbox) and the engineer brought out the one of the 80s envelopes and it, like every other DOD product I’ve tried since, brought my basses to life.
I’m super happy to see you let people know how awesome DOD stuff is.
