Ampeg bass amplification is essential to my bass sound and have been a huge part of my career. I have always loved how the amps sound with the bass directly into them and because they are such powerful amplifiers, they have so much headroom to really articulate the number of effects that I use. The crew at Ampeg know bass sound, so when they released the Ampeg SCR-DI I already knew I could expect the same amazing high quality from their pedals as I do from their amps.
The Ampeg SCR-DI isn’t your ordinary preamp. The Ampeg SCR-DI is one of the most diverse DI’s yet. The SCR-DI features Ampeg’s classic intuitive EQ control with ultra-hi and ultra-lo tone shaping, as well as multiple outputs to really get the low end heard in the live mix. The multiple outputs include a headphone out which is great for practicing at home, when you want to get a good idea of your tone but don’t want to disturb your neighbors. Ampeg also decided to throw in an overdrive, with their Scrambler overdrive you can dial in a great dirt sound that perfectly captures that overdriven tube breakup that Ampeg is renowned for. The SCR-DI is great for travel too, as they managed to package all these features into a backpack friendly sized pedal.

Ampeg is always pushing the limits and they really stepped up their game with the SCR-DI. Ampeg have become synonymous with low-end, and have cemented their legacy for bass playing everywhere.
