This is the first part of interview with one of the best bassists in the game, Tim Lefebvre. Tim is the bassist in Tedeschi Trucks Band and also is a member of Mark Guiliana’s groundbreaking Beat Music. He talks about touring year round, recording Beat Music’s Los Angeles Improvisations music and shows us some uncharted bass sounds via his wild pedal arsenal. Now an Ampeg endorsee, Tim brings big low end in this video via is 3leaf Audio custom octave pedal, Loud Button’s Atomic Subharmonic and other effects, new and vintage!
Tim is one of the most well rounded bassists I have ever been around. He shreds on upright, is an amazing reader, can play any style of music at such a high level but what blows me away the most about him is his ability to write hooky bass lines with sounds that have not yet been heard on bass. He is the modern bassist’s template and can be put into any situation and rule it.
Whether Tim is talking about jamming out in Tedeschi Trucks Band or improvising in Beat Music, he is confident about what he does and is pretty much one of the most fearless bassists in music. He was recently featured on the cover of Bass Player Magazine, and keeps getting amazing reviews of his work.
