Today’s Show Me Your Pedalboard entry comes from Kevin! Kevin’s got a very neatly organized board with plenty of straightforward effects and in his words, the “weird but inspiring stuff.” Let’s take a look at what Kevin is working with:
First off, I have to say that I admire how cleanly organized this board is. Guys like us are always swapping pedals out and sometimes we just let the wires/cables fall where they may for the sake of time. But there’s something to be said about putting in the time to organize your board and do a little cable management. Your board instantly becomes dependable and you won’t have to worry about the pedals moving around in transit! Enough about cleanliness, let’s get to the goods!
Kevin’s board starts off into a TC Electronics Polytune followed by a PedalsAndEffects favorite the BOSS CS-2 Compressor Sustainer. Kevin mentions that the CS-2 is “the secret weapon in the arsenal” and that should come as no surprise! Check out what I have to say about my number one pedal here. After the CS-2 is an Xotic EP booster into a KTR Klon. The KTR Klon is one of many pedal clones of the coveted Klon Centaur Overdrive pedal. The Centaur was few in numbers and goes for a pretty penny these days. There are plenty of great overdrives out there that aren’t the Klon Centaur, and some of the clones arguably do a better job than the original. It’s all about what works for you!
Up next is an Earthquaker Devices Speaker Cranker which does exactly what the name implies and then some. Afterwards is an Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork, I don’t have too much experience with new EHX stuff but Kevin mentions that it’s “like a whammy pedal in a small enclosure,” very interesting. Up next is an Earthquaker Devices Grand Orbiter phaser followed by an Old Blood Noise Endeavours Black Fountain delay. I absolutely love what the guys over at Old Blood Noise Endeavours come up with. The Black Fountain is such a lush delay and their Procession reverb is like no other. Everytime I pull out something by Old Blood Noise, I just can’t stop playing. Kevin’s board then ends in a Strymon El Capistan delay. Additionally, everything is powered by a BBE Supa-Charger.
