Today’s Show Me Your Pedalboard entry comes from Zach! Zach is a bass player who likes having the ability to mix and match his sonic options but also likes to be able to reliable get back to a dry groovy signal amongst the craziness. The jump must be quite the contrast in tone! Let’s take a look at what Zach is rocking out with:
Zach’s signal starts off into a KORG Pitchblack tuner. The KORG Pitchblack is a great alternative to the BOSS TU-2, the LED is super bright so you’ll never have a problem seeing it anywhere. From the tuner, Zach uses a BOSS LS-2 Line Selector to keep all of his effects in the FX loop of the pedal. In doing so he can seamlessly switch between a super effected signal to his dry signal. Handy! In the loop Zach’s got a 3 Leaf Audio Octabrve Octave pedal backed up by a 3 Leaf Audio You’re Doom Fuzz. 3 Leaf Audio is a boutique effects pedal company run entirely by one person out of Seattle, Washington. They got some cool looking stuff, I gotta check them out! You can find their line of pedals here. Up next is a Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian, modeled after the old Sovtek Electro-Harmonix Big Muffs. There are a lot of decent clones out there, but it’s hard to beat the original.

Zach’s signal moves up and over the board to a Source Audio Soundblox 2 Bass Multiwave Distortion followed by a 3 Leaf Proton Envelope filter backed up by a Pigtronix Bass Envelope Filter. Love Pigtronix! Great pick! Zach’s singal is then followed by a Mooer Ninety Orange phaser which is a MXR Phase 90 clone. You should just get an MXR Phase 90, they’ve remained consistently reliable over the years and they’re relatively inexpensive too. There’s the vintage script logo or the block logo so there’s something for everyone. Go for the gold, get a real Phase 90. Or you could get a MXR Phase 99 which may replace my Phase 90 outright! Check out the PedalsAndEffects review here. Moving back out from the FX loop of the BOSS LS-2, is an MXR Bass compressor ending in an Xotic EP Booster, and TC Electronics Ditto Looper to loop the craziness.
