As we get deeper in the Battle Of Boutique series, the competition has not only been pretty close, the opinions I have read are all pretty committed and everyone seems very certain with their choices. In doing these, I find myself going back and forth between what I like and what I would really chose in terms of overall use, but this is not for me to say what is best, it all of you.
This week’s Battle Of Boutiques pedals are ZVEX’s Effects Fuzzolo, 3Leaf Audio’s You’re Doom and from the Uk it is Cog Effects Tarkin Bass Fuzz. These three are all fuzzes and like the other rounds, are all very different in sound.
ZVEX’s Fuzzolo, though small, is a “silicon fuzz has a rich subby ripping texture with aggressive midrange and plenty of volume. The Fuzzolo has two knobs, one controlling Volume and the other controlling Pulse Width, which weeps between square wave and a narrow/wide pulse shape.”
Second up is 3Leaf Audio’s Dynamic Harmonic Device. This unique fuzz “responds to your playing dynamics to generate vintage synth-inspired sounds. Strong upper octave harmonics add depth.”
And last up, though seen already on PedalsAndEffects Fuzz Wars, is Cog Effects Tarkin Bass Fuzz. This fuzz is “a bass fuzz with huge low end and gnarly fuzz, but also note definition and retention of your attack on the strings.”
What I need from fans of this site are your opinions. I need to know what you like, every week after three pedals get played through. I can’t say enough how important it is for me to hear your feedback. Please take the time and rank them as follows:
I am super excited to see what you think of these three, and all of the pedals used in the Battle Of Boutiques!
